Magic-Show-on-the-Lawn.jpg

Thanks to all of the members who came to the club Monday for Memorial Day. We had a huge turnout for the clinic and exhibition with the Tennis Department with over 100 participants! Thanks to the Bubble Lady and Big “Al” the magician. See the photos from the Memorial Day activities.

Aquatics Highlights – 5/17/10

What an exciting day for the Marin County Athletic League swimmers! I was lucky enough to get to watch some of the action take place over at TAM High School on Saturday and I couldn’t have been more excited about the performances! Long time members Mattie and Brigitta Winkler were there racing head to head in the 100 Breast, both did an excellent job. Brigitta was able to podium taking the Bronze in a time of 1:05.74. It was a pretty exciting race considering the girls are sisters and this will most likely be the last time they will be seen swimming competitively together, as Mattie is off to Whittier in the Fall on a Water Polo Scholarship! Congratulations to both Winklers!!

I also saw Gabriel Patino out there smashing the 200 Freestyle relay with fellow teammates from Redwood High. Congrats Gabriel!

Lastly one of our newest swim instructors was out there racing. I saw Devon Demont on the anchor leg of the WINNING 200 freestyle relay, if I were you, I would sign up for lessons with her STAT. Devon will be teaching with us all summer, before she heads to UC Davis on a swimming scholarship.

Overall it was a very exciting event to watch, as a former collegiate swimmer I always enjoy witnessing some good ole fast swimming, thanks for the entertainment MCALS.

Beginning May 15th we are going to open the Main Pool from 1-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the growing number of members. The lanes will be removed and the diving board will be open. This will allow for more space to enjoy free swim, rather than only having the South Pool.

We are planning a special summer kick-off for June 12th, where kids can enjoy a half hour swim lesson and free swim with all of their favorite instructors. Please stay tuned for more details regarding this event.

Mommy & Me Music is Back!

Join us as we introduce young children to the basics of rhythm, pitch, melody and the experience of music making. Nannies welcome too.

Easter Weekend

Thanks to all the members who attended the Easter festivities last Saturday under ominous clouds. A special thank you to Juliana Inferrera and staff members for organizing such a fun filled morning that included cookie decorating, jump house and Easter Egg Hunt. Thanks to Chef Austin Whitaker for the wonderful Easter Brunch enjoyed by all.

Aquatics Highlights 2/27-3/5

A special congratulations to long time TPC member Brigitte Winkler who over the weekend smashed her personal best 2010 USA Swimming Austin Grand Prix in the 100 Breaststroke by 4 seconds, earning herself a 17th place in the prelims! This is no small feat considering the top eight swimmers at the meet are Olympians or Olympic Trialists. Brigitte swam on the North Bay Aquatics team at TPC for about 5 years before moving up to the Senior group.

We had a few other personal bests smashed in our South Pool on Thursday (3/4), where the junior swimmers competed in 25’s of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Terrific performance by the young swimmers.

TPC water polo players ventured across the Golden Gate to compete against the Olympic Club’s Junior Water Polo Team. After a hard battle the TPC took victory, defeating the Winged-O 11-9!!
