Aquatics Update – August 27, 2012

Tiburon Mile

We have a number of Olympians and National champions coming to town for the RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic and the RCP Tiburon Mile (Sept. 8-9) and it would be a great opportunity for Tiburon families to be in touch with these inspiring swimmers by hosting one in your home during this weekend. All that is required is a separate bedroom for each swimmer and an interest in making these swimmers feel welcome while here. Please contact Margaret at (415) 507-1440 or for further information

Tiburon masters swimmer Robert Placak, event founder, will celebrate the 13th Annual RCP Tiburon Mile the weekend of September 8-9th. This star-studded weekend will feature Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalists as well as World Champions in what is considered the most competitive open water swim in the world right here in our backyard.

In addition, the The RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic II will be held on September 8th, at a private residence in Atherton, ca. A sit down dinner and meet and greet with Olympic and World Champions will follow at this gracious pool setting. This event will benefit the USA Swimming Foundation and Hospice by the Bay. Limited to 125 guests.

For more information on any of these events please visit or call 415-721-9990.

Spin and Swim

We’re launching a new dynamic program with a great energetic instructor Lisa Schuller. Lisa has been involved in Aquatic and Group Exercise programs for all of her adult life and runs an excellent class.
We’ll be offering a class that does 45 minutes of spin followed by a 45 minute low impact, high intensity aerobic water workout. This is a great way to get 90 minutes of quality workout!

Lisa grew up swimming for the SF Merionnettes, a synchronized swim team and began coaching at 8 years old! Since then, she has taught and ran aquatic programs and currently is certified to teach WaterGym, Spin and Group Exercise. Lisa has lived in Marin for 22 years and is married and has 2 wonderful teenage girls.

Please join us, complimentary, on Labor Day September 3rd, from 9:15 – 11:15 am. Contact the fitness desk to sign-up.
