Dear Members,

Here is a brief update on what’s happing at the Club.

Importance of Semi-Annual Member Surveys

As you know, we are a member-owned club, which means the Board needs Member input to inform its decision making. The Board also needs Member feedback to plan and evaluate the Club’s programs. As owners, all of your voices count. Surveys are the best way to ensure everyone is heard!

To that end, the Board will now generate two surveys a year-a Spring planning survey, to focus on the Club’s program offerings (to help us determine what programs to offer or modify), and a Fall evaluation survey, to solicit Members’ feedback on Club programs and operations.

If you haven’t already done so, please submit your Fall 2017 online Member Satisfaction Survey from SurveyMonkey. It takes only 10 minutes to complete but has long-lasting effects.

New Governors and Officers

As a member-owned club, we rely heavily on the voluntary participation of our members who donate their time and energy to the Club. Members’ generosity and commitment take many forms, from serving on one or more committees and helping out with an event to serving on the Board of Governors or taking a leadership position as an Officer.

We are fortunate to have some outstanding members, Justin DeTrayChristina GoebelAbby Harle and Rick Sichel, stepping up to serve new terms as Governors. We are also very grateful for the hard work of outgoing predecessors Chip MorelandRoss SeymoreBrian Mathews and Michael Carrier. Chip Moreland will continue to serve as Chair of the House & Grounds Committee. When you get the chance, please take a minute to thank each of these members for their work.

The Board recently elected new Officers: Luis Doffo will continue as Vice President for another year, Peter Winkler will serve as Secretary, and Justin DeTray will serve as the Club’s Treasurer. I will serve another year as President.

Annual Meeting

The November 9th Annual Meeting provided a summary of Club’s performance this year, including Committee self-reports on meeting their own 2016-2017 objectives. The presentations are available on the TPC website.
 
Master Plan Status

The Master Plan Committee met with the McMahon Group to review its proposed layout for the Club. We discussed many changes and now await a revised plan. Once a plan is reasonably “baked,” the Committee will share it with the rest of the Membership for comment.

Status of Lower Tennis Court Project 

The Town of Tiburon’s EIR consultant has requested we prepare an additional photo simulation as part of our EIR submittal (we await this photo simulation from our lighting engineer). The Town of Tiburon informed us that this is the only missing part of the EIR.

Fundraiser for Napa & Sonoma Fire Victims Big Success
 
The November 5th fundraiser was a lot of fun and raised nearly $25,000(!) for the fire victims. It was great to see our TPC community come together to support other communities in need. For the silent auction, many of our staff and Members donated their professional time and talents. Other Members donated their artwork, Sonoma/Napa wines, and Warriors and Bears tickets.

The Board asks you to join them in thanking everyone who contributed or helped, and extends special thanks to staff members Kirsten FrazerJuliana Moreno, and Nancy Shapiro, and TPC members Mary Lou Tierney and Judy Epstein, who pulled together the successful event in record time. It’s efforts like this that make me proud to be a member of the TPC.
