TPC Annual Meeting – November 8, 2012

The Annual Meeting of the Tiburon Peninsula Club will take place on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the clubhouse. Outgoing Club President Ken Brakebill will summarize the year for members in attendance. In addition Committee Chairs will summarize the activities for the 2012 year. Brakebill will acknowledge the fine work done by our outgoing Board members Isolde Wilson and Ben Kilgore. Our three new BOG members will be Park Allen, Paul Bressie and Courtney Finnegan.

Park Allen

Park first became a TPC member as a kid in 1978. Park swam for the TPC Sharks (now the Angry Tuna) for nearly 10 years including a year with “Mean Mike.” Park’s fond memories of growing up at the TPC brought him back when he returned to Tiburon in 2006.

Park brought with him his Fiancée, Christina Goebel and their 3 girls, Makenzie, Augustine, and Delaney. The whole family is active at the TPC. Park is, of course, regularly in the pool and you’ll spot the kids on the swim team. The kids have also enjoyed TPC summer camp, self-defense classes, birthday parties and family nights. Christina is a regular in the fitness center.

Park is currently the Director of Human Resources for Healthline. He has a long career in HR – the last 10 years in the Health industry and in the hospitality industry prior to that. Park received his MBA from Dominican University of California.

Park also is a Commissioner on the Town of Tiburon’s Parks, Open Space, and Trails Commission, and the lead singer and sax player of a local dads’ garage band, Overbite.

Paul Bressie

Paul and his family have been TPC members since 2005, shortly after moving to Belvedere from the city. His wife Claudia and he have three children: James (9), Pierce (8) and Julia (5). Paul has played on & captained several tennis teams at TPC including this year’s Marin League Champions in the Men’s 4.0 and Mixed 9.0 divisions. He uses the pool frequently for morning workouts and reports great experiences with Rudy Kardos as a triathlon coach. Paul and his family have been generous and enthusiastic supporters of the TPC Challenger. Claudia also serves on the TPC Tennis Committee and volunteers for the Challenger assisting with housing for officials, as well as captaining and playing on several TPC tennis teams. Their children participate in weekly tennis clinics and on the Under 10 tennis team, and have attended several summer camps here.

Apart from TPC, Paul’s background is in real estate as a commercial property manager, leasing agent, investor, and developer. He attended the Thacher School followed up by UC Berkeley where he majored in Economics. He learned property management from his father at Bressie & Company before branching out to Cushman & Wakefield and Spieker Properties. Currently, he owns Boulevard Properties, a commercial property management, development, and investment firm. He has overseen several office redevelopments, as well as the construction of the Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse in South San Francisco. Paul and his wife also actively support the Reed School Foundation. He coaches two soccer teams for the Tiburon Soccer Club, and is a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club and the Olympic Club.

With his experience in real estate, Paul hopes to be able offer support to the already excellent House and Grounds efforts, and continue to support the growth of the Challenger. And, with three blossoming junior tennis maniacs, he looks forward to supporting the junior tennis program.

Courtney Finnegan

Courtney and her family have been members of TPC since 2004. She has three children, Jack (10), Sydney (8) and Dylan (8). Courtney participates in both the swim and tennis programs. All three of her children participate in swimming program at TPC. Her family can be seen daily at the TPC around the pool or in the café.

Courtney has worked at Cambridge Investment Partners since 1997 as Vice President. She is in charge of operations and consults on all investment strategies. Prior, she was a position trader at Bear Stearns & Co. in New York. She is an active member in her community and her school district.
